The BOP Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club has around 90 pilots and manages coastal sites and inland thermal flying sites in the BOP area. Some of these sites are on private land, or very sensitive landmarks, so it is essential that visiting pilots contact us before flying.

Our Club’s purpose:

To promote hang gliding and paragliding in New Zealand, and to foster strong relationships between pilots, the New Zealand Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association, the Civil Aviation Authority, flying site owners, local authorities, local Iwi, and the general public. Encouraging the exchange of knowledge and information and ensure the adherence to the rules and regulations in order to promote safety and to secure our flying sites for future enjoyment.
